' <br /> • ,ie <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII +1 �-' ! *_ STATE OF HAWAII <br /> • •.ATE OF•HAi <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 5®1 18 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE LIONS CLUB OF <br /> KONA COMMUNITY FOUNDATION INC. FOR THE 36TH ANNUAL HAWAII <br /> KUPUNA HULA FESTIVAL. <br /> WHEREAS, the Lions Club of Kona Community Foundation Inc. is a 501(c)(3) <br /> nonprofit organization whose mission is to develop and provide community service projects and <br /> activities that meet the needs of the community; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Lions Club of Kona Community Foundation Inc. is working in <br /> partnership with the Department of Parks and Recreation to co-sponsor the 36th Annual Hawai`i <br /> Kupuna Hula Festival, which will be held on September 12-13, 2018, at the Sheraton Kona <br /> Resort and Spa at Keauhou Bay; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Hawai`i Kupuna Hula Festival is the longest running international event <br /> that showcases talented and experienced dancers over the age of 55 from all over the world; and <br /> WHEREAS, to meet the increasing costs of this annual event, the Lions Club of Kona <br /> Community Foundation Inc. is requesting funds to assist with ballroom rental, awards, prizes, <br /> and supplies for the 36th Annual Hawai`i Kupuna Hula Festival; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 6 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Parks and Recreation to provide a grant to the Lions Club of Kona Community Foundation Inc. <br /> to assist with expenses to support the 36th Annual Hawai`i Kupuna Hula Festival. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
