,�;�tYosM`�;' <br /> � n \i1�Ji�j <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII <br /> . �rE <br /> ................ <br /> • . <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 505 18 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE PAHOA <br /> SCHOOLS SUPPORT FOUNDATION FOR THE 2018 PAHOA HIGH SCHOOL <br /> PROJECT GRAD NIGHT. <br /> WHEREAS,the Pahoa Schools Support Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit whose <br /> mission is to supplement and fund activities to promote educational opportunities at Pahoa High <br /> and Intermediate School, Pahoa Elementary School, and Keonepoko Elementary School; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Pahoa Schools Support Foundation is collaborating with students, <br /> parents, faculty, and staff at Pahoa High School to provide a fun and safe event for graduates <br /> immediately following commencement ceremonies on May 27, 2018; and <br /> WHEREAS, the 2018 Pahoa High School Project Grad Night event is a drug- and <br /> alcohol-free event that will take graduates to various venues in Hilo for the evening allowing <br /> them to participate in and enjoy fun and safe activities on one of the biggest nights of their lives; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, the Pahoa Schools Support Foundation is requesting funds to assist with <br /> expenses related to the 2018 Pahoa High School Project Grad Night event, such as <br /> transportation, food and beverages, decorations, and prizes; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control supports pro-social engagement for <br /> youth and young adults that promote sober fun through participation in drug- and alcohol-free <br /> events with peers; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 4 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Liquor Control to provide a grant to the Pahoa Schools Support Foundation for expenses relating <br /> to the 2018 Pahoa High School Project Grad Night event. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
