STATE OF HAWAII <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 5 2 <br /> O <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE ISLAND OF <br /> HAWAII YMCA FOR ITS FAMILY VISITATION CENTER PROGRAM. <br /> WHEREAS, the Island of Hawai`i YMCA (YMCA) is a 501(c)(3)nonprofit <br /> organization that supports local communities and families by offering activities,programs, and <br /> services at its facilities; and <br /> WHEREAS, the YMCA's Family Visitation Center program offers a safe, neutral, and <br /> nurturing environment for visitations with family members that are experiencing domestic <br /> violence, divorce, separation and/or custody disputes; and <br /> WHEREAS, the YMCA is requesting funds to assist with the cost for staffing the <br /> visitation center to provide supervision and security during visits and family exchanges for the <br /> children's safety and well-being; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney supports domestic and family <br /> violence prevention and intervention initiatives by providing safe and secure places for family <br /> interactions during times of high stress and anxiety and supports agencies and programs that <br /> provide those services; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 4 will be appropriated to the Office of the <br /> Prosecuting Attorney to provide a grant to the Island of Hawai`i YMCA to assist with the cost <br /> for staffing its Family Visitation Center program. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
