j i• � � <br /> ----iii.., � STATE OF HAWAI I <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII I . <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 516 18 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO COMMUNITY FIRST <br /> INC. FOR GROUND TRANSPORTATION RELATED TO TROPIC CARE 2018. <br /> WHEREAS, Community First Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that supports <br /> quality health care for the people of Hawai`i County, is working with the United States <br /> Department of Defense (DoD) and State Department of Health to assist with Tropic Care 2018, a <br /> DoD Innovative Readiness Training program; and <br /> WHEREAS, Tropic Care 2018 is a civil-military partnership that will provide the people <br /> of Hawai`i County with access to free health care; and <br /> WHEREAS,personnel from the O`ahu-based 1984th U.S. Army Hospital will be at <br /> Kea'au High School on June 18-28, 2018, to offer the general public, including those entering <br /> the workforce, free health screenings, physicals for student athletes, dental services, eye exams, <br /> hearing screenings, nutritional services, veteran services, and prescription eyeglasses; and <br /> WHEREAS,personnel participating in Tropic Care 2018 will also provide information <br /> on career opportunities in military and health care fields; and <br /> WHEREAS,the Department of Research and Development supports programs and <br /> community partnerships that enhance workforce development and training initiatives to sustain a <br /> skilled and healthy workforce in Hawai`i County; and <br /> WHEREAS, Community First Inc. requests funding to assist with the ground <br /> transportation of equipment, medical supplies, and military personnel participating in Tropic <br /> Care 2018; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 3 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Research and Development to provide a grant to Community First Inc. for ground transportation <br /> for Tropic Care 2018. <br /> r - <br />
