."OJt!ty of.. <br /> • <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII <br /> '••,,rf OFN�• <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 518 18 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO COMMUNITY FIRST <br /> INC. TO SUPPORT TROPIC CARE 2018. <br /> WHEREAS, Community First Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that supports <br /> collaborative efforts to achieve a sustainable medical system that provides quality care to all; and <br /> WHEREAS, Community First Inc. is collaborating with the United States Army Reserve <br /> and the Hawai`i State Department of Health to host Tropic Care 2018, which will be held at the <br /> Kea'au High School campus on June 18-28, 2018; and <br /> WHEREAS, Tropic Care 2018 is a militaryInnovative Readiness Training program that <br /> provides high quality, mission-essential training for military personnel by providing the public <br /> with free medical health screenings,physicals for student athletes, dental services, eye exams, <br /> hearing screenings, nutritional services, veteran services, and prescription eye glasses; and <br /> WHEREAS, Tropic Care 2018 will strengthen the relationship between citizens and the <br /> military and engage community members by providing an up-close look at the various career <br /> opportunities within the military and health care workforce; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Research and Development encourages programs and <br /> events that build community partnerships, strengthens families, and supports the development of <br /> a skilled and healthy workforce; and <br /> WHEREAS, Community First Inc. is requesting funds to defray the costs of printing <br /> forms that are necessary for Tropic Care 2018; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 4 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Research and Development to provide a grant to Community First Inc. for Tropic Care 2018. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
