No. 750 <br /> PLACE: Kailua-Kona, Hawai`i <br /> TIME: 1:28 p.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawai`i County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Public Safety and Mass Transit, to which was referred Communication <br /> No. 750,reports as follows: <br /> Communication 750, transmitted by Mayor Harry Kim, dated January 31, 2018, nominates <br /> Stanley Marks of Council District 8 to the Transportation Commission. Mr. Marks has extensive <br /> knowledge of transportation operations having worked for Horizon Air, Pepsi Cola, and Bolton, Inc., a <br /> construction company. He attended the University of Idaho and the International Air Academy, in <br /> Vancouver, Washington and has lived in Hawai`i for approximately 26 years and is familiar with the <br /> transportation challenges of our island. <br /> Mr. Marks is not affiliated with any political party; if confirmed, he will serve a vacant term ending <br /> December 31, 2018 and will qualify to apply for re-appointment to a full five-year term. He was present <br /> in the Kailua-Kona Council Chambers and responded to questions.
