�OJN��t os�,y� <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII fi-f,Nk-'ershii.- STATE OF HAWAII <br /> RESOLUTION NO. .5 ® 1 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE HAWAII ARTIST <br /> COLLABORATION TO ASSIST WITH EXPENSES ASSOCIATED WITH THE WEST <br /> HAWAII COMMUNITY BEACH CLEANUP. <br /> c nonprofit the Hawai`i Artist Collaboration is a 501(c)(3) p rofit or ganiization <br /> whose mission is to create opportunities for organizations and educators to share their collective <br /> knowledge, experiences, and resources for the benefit of society and Hawai`i's culture; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Big Island Wave Riders Against Drugs and numerous organizations and <br /> community groups coordinated the annual West Hawai`i Community Beach Cleanup between <br /> Puako and Miloli`i, which took place on March 3, 2018; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Hawai`i Artist Collaboration stimulates artistic inspiration in youth by <br /> supporting special events such as the annual West Hawaii Community Beach Cleanup event that <br /> beautifies our coastline; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Hawai`i Artist Collaboration is requesting funds for reimbursement of <br /> expenses for radio advertisements, t-shirts, lunch, and goodie bags for each participant of the <br /> beach cleanup; and <br /> WHEREAS, one of the Department of Liquor Control's goals is to support public and <br /> youth programs that promote alcohol- and drug-free events, such as this beach cleanup initiative <br /> to provide a safe and healthy environment for the community; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment,materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 8 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Liquor Control to provide a grant to the Hawai`i Artist Collaboration to assist with expenses <br /> associated with the West Hawai`i Community Beach Cleanup. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
