�J�tY•oF N,' , <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAI`I +� STATE OF HAWAI`I <br /> �Tf oF•- <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 586 18 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE HAWAII LGBT <br /> LEGACY FOUNDATION TO ASSIST WITH EXPENSES RELATED TO THE 2018 <br /> HAWAII ISLAND LGBTQ PRIDE FESTIVAL. <br /> WHEREAS, the Hawai`i LGBT Legacy Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit <br /> organization that supports, empowers, unifies, and facilitates lesbian, gay, bisexual, and <br /> transgender (LGBT) organizations and individuals in Hawai`i; and <br /> WHEREAS, Hawai`i Island Pride, a project of the Hawai`i LGBT Legacy Foundation, <br /> will be conducting its Sixth Annual Pride Parade and Festival on June 30, 2018, in Hilo featuring <br /> live entertainment, food, crafts from local merchants, and informational booths from community <br /> groups; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Hawai`i LGBT Legacy Foundation is requesting financial assistance for <br /> the 2018 Hawai`i Island LGBTQ Pride Festival, to recoup expenses for park permits, sound <br /> system rentals, radio and print publicity, and decorations; and <br /> WHEREAS, one of the goals of the Department of Parks and Recreation is to provide <br /> community events to perpetuate and preserve cultural, ethnic, and community traditions; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 5 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Parks and Recreation to provide a grant to the Hawai`i LGBT Legacy Foundation to assist with <br /> expenses related to the 2018 Hawai`i Island LGBTQ Pride Festival. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfer/appropriates the following amount as set fourth below: <br />
