No. 837 PLACE: Council Chambers Hilo, Hawai`i TIME: 10:49 a.m. Council Chair and Members Hawai`i County Council Hilo, Hawai`i 96720 Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Communication No. 837, reports as follows: Communication No. 837, transmitted by Mayor Harry Kim, dated March 21, 2018, nominates Wayne A. Frank for reappointment to the Hawai`i County Public Access, Open Space, and Natural Resources Preservation Commission. Ms. Rose Bautista, Executive Assistant to Mayor Kim, introduced Dr. Wayne A. Frank, who was appointed in July 2017, and is now eligible to serve a full term that will expire December 31, 2022. Nominee Frank was present and expressed that it would be an honor to continue serving on the Public Access, Open Space, and Natural Resources Preservation Commission. Several Council Members commented in favor of the reappointment. Chair David stated that Dr. Frank did not need to appear at the next Council meeting for confirmation of his appointment. Pursuant to Article 42, Section 2-1215(a), Hawai`i County Code, there is established an Public Access, Open Space, and Natural Resources Preservation Commission, which shall consist of nine members, appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the Council. Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Communication No. 837, and recommends confirmation of the reappointment of Dr. Wayne A.
