• <br /> Jiti of M, , <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII t, '',,,,,ri •" STATE OF HAWAII <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 602 18 <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE OFFICE OF THE MAYOR TO <br /> ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE UNIVERSITY OF <br /> HAWAI L . <br /> WHEREAS,the Department of Research and Development wishes to enter <br /> into an agreement-with the University of Hawaii :to provide a one-year extension to <br /> an agreement to provide funding for its Energy Science Program planning and <br /> resource assessment at.the. University of Hawaii at Hilo;.and <br /> WHEREAS, the agreement is to provide a one-year extension to an <br /> agreement entered,on June 23, 2015 with the Office of Research Services on <br /> behalf of the University of Hawaii. The original agreement, which expires on June <br /> 30, 2018, was to provide $90,000 to develop an undergraduate educational <br /> program in energy science with a significant practical component; and <br /> WHEREAS, Hawaii Revised Statutes, Section 46-7, requires that County <br /> departments obtain the consent of the council to enter into agreements with the <br /> federal or state governments;respecting action to be taken pursuant to any of the <br /> powers granted by law to furnish, expend, and receive any funds or other <br /> assistance in connection with projects being or to be undertaken pursuant to those <br /> powers; now, .therefore; <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII, in <br /> accordance with section 46-7, Hawaii.Revised Statutes, that the.Mayor of the <br /> County of Hawaii is authorized to execute, on behalf of the County, an agreement <br /> and related documents with the University of Hawaii to provide aid to the County <br /> as described above <br />
