Section 13.2.5.2.2(j) Courses of Action of the General Plan states, improve <br /> Akolea Road between Pi`ihonua and Kaumana Drive and construct its extension to the <br /> upper reaches of Ainaola Drive to provide a cross-city connection between upper <br /> Wailuku and Waiakea-Uka. -To achieve this policy, the Planning Director recommends . <br /> future road widenings consistent with the City of Hilo Zone Map, adopted by <br /> Ordinance No. 187 in 1968. <br /> All essential utilities and services are available to the property. Access to <br /> each of the subject properties is from Akolea Road, which is a County owned and <br /> maintained roadway with a minimum twelve (12) feet of pavement up to twenty(20) feet <br /> of pavement width along the frontage of the subject properties within the existing <br /> thirty(30) foot wide right-of-way. For each Parcel 33 and 34, the applicant proposes two <br /> side-by-side flag lots and one lot directly fronting Akolea Road in their conceptual <br /> subdivision map. Opposite of Akolea Road, the subject properties also front a private <br /> road extension of Wilder Road,known as TMK: (3) 2-5-047:014. The City of Hilo Zone <br /> Map (Ordinance No. 187) identifies Akolea Road as a secondary arterial with a proposed <br /> 80-foot right-of-way. There is an existing ten (10) foot wide easement for the Hawai`i <br /> Electric Light Company(HELCO) for an overhead transmission.line fronting Akolea <br />
