A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF FUNDS OF A LATER FISCAL YEAR AND OF MORE THAN ONE FISCAL YEAR FOR A MULTI-YEAR LEASE OF REAL PROPERTY FOR THE COUNTY OF HAWAII POLICE DEPARTMENT WHEREAS, Section 10-11 of the County Charter requires that any contract, lease or other obligation requiring..payment of funds from-the appropriations of a later fiscal year or of more than one fiscal year be approved by resolution; and WHEREAS, the County of Hawai`i Police Department currently rents office space for its Ocean View substation, identified as a portion of TMK: (3) 9-2-185-094, situated at 92-1329 Prince Kuhio Blvd., Ocean View, County and State of Hawai`i, from Oceanview Partners LLC ("Landlord"); and WHEREAS, the County of Hawai`i Police Department continues to need this office space for the near future and so desires to enter into a multi-year lease agreement commencing on July 1, 2018, and ending May 31, 2023, with an additional five year option; with Landlord; and WHEREAS, the County of Hawai`i Police Department is requesting authorization for the Mayor to enter into a multi-year lease agreement with Landlord for office space; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the Honorable Harry Kim, Mayor of the County.of Hawai`i is hereby uthorized to enter into a multi-year Lease with Oceanview Partners LLC, for a term beginning July 1, 2018, and ending May 31, 2023, with an additional five year option.' BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that sufficient funds be budgeted in future fiscal years to cover the anticipated obligations of the County under the terms of the Lease.
