T,TEOFM��• <br /> RESOLUTION NO.: 613 18 <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A MONETARY <br /> DONATION OF.$7,60O:TO THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND <br /> RECREATION <br /> WHEREAS, the Lili`uokalani Trust is donating $7,600 to the Department of <br /> Parks and Recreation; and <br /> WHEREAS, these funds will be used to for the Ike Kai Summer Program and <br /> Ike Kai After School Program. These programs provide children with experiences in <br /> Hawaiian cultural practices of ancient Hawaiian wayfinding through STEM learning <br /> tools and techniques; and <br /> WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of.the Hawaii County Charter provides <br /> that the Council,on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations of money, <br /> securities or other personal property or of-real estate or any interest in real estate, <br /> and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162(a) of the Hawaii County Code states that <br /> any gifts or donations of money, securities, or personal property which fall within the <br /> capitalization procedures of the. Department of Finance, may be accepted by <br /> Resolution approved by the Council; and. <br /> WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Department of Finance has requested that <br /> cash donations of any amount be recorded and accepted through the formal <br /> Resolution process; and <br /> WHEREAS,.the Department of Parks and.Recreation recommends the <br /> acceptance of this donation;.now, therefore, <br />
