Poindexter, Council Chairwoman <br /> Drn <br /> And Members of the Hawai`i County Council w <br /> FROM: 8aren Eoff, Council Member <br /> Council District 8 <br /> SUBJECT: Attendance at a Community Forum <br /> In accordance with HRS § 92-2.5(e), I am reporting the attendance of Council Members Maile <br /> David, Dru Kanuha, Tim Richards and myself at a community forum held at the West Hawai`i <br /> Civic Center on May 24, 2018 regarding the County Budget. <br /> Community Forums, a nonprofit organization, requested attendance from the Office of the <br /> Mayor and Directors from the Departments of Finance, Parks and Recreation, Mass Transit, <br /> Public Works and Environmental Management. Discussion at this meeting included potential <br /> sources of revenue and budget cuts. <br /> HRS Section 92-2.5(e) provides that two or more members of a board, but less than a quorum, <br /> may attend an informational meeting or presentation on matters relating to official board <br /> business, including a meeting of another entity, legislative hearing, convention, seminar, or <br /> community meeting; provided that the meeting or presentation is not specifically and exclusively <br /> organized for or directed toward members of the board. The section further provides that at the <br /> next duly noticed meeting of the board, the board members shall report their attendance and the <br /> matters presented and discussed that related to official board business. <br /> Please place this communication on the appropriate committee meeting agenda for June 5, 2018. <br /> Thank you. <br /> KE/wb -- <br /> COMM.
