REQUEST: <br /> We request to amend Ordinance 18-68, The 2018-2019 Operating Budget to add to the Budget in the <br /> Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act Funds as follows: <br /> The Office of Housing and Community Development is requesting the appropriation of an additional <br /> $4,063 - to the WIOA funds 065 account 065.3305.99 to fund the following activity: <br /> The monies is being paid to the county as a pass through County Sector Partnership Engagement to be <br /> facilitated and convened with the Hawaii Island Economic Development Board 065.432.5435.01.115; WIOA <br /> Sector Partnership Engagements, Misc Contract Services). <br /> B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED): <br /> The appropriation reflects anticipated state general funds funding allocations by the Department of Labor <br /> and Industrial Relations, Workforce Development Council (WDC). These funds are a pass through to the <br /> county of Hawai'i Office of Housing and will be utilized to provide funding for Sector Partnership Engagement <br /> to identify businesses' employment and training needs. Funding to be facilitated and convened with the <br /> Hawaii Island Economic Development Board. <br /> Request to bypass Finance Committee as there will be no County General Funds involved in these <br /> transactions.
