No. 1027 <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> Kailua-Kona, Hawai`i <br /> TIME: 9:34 a.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawai`i County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Planning, to which was referred Communication No. 1027, reports as <br /> follows: <br /> Communication No. 1027, transmitted by Mayor Harry Kim, dated August 3, 2018, nominates <br /> Franz Weber of Council District 7 to the Hawai`i County Kona Community Development Plan <br /> Action Committee. <br /> Mr. Dennis Kauka, Jr., Executive Assistant Aide to Mayor Kim, introduced Mr. Weber who <br /> appeared in person. Mr. Weber is originally from Germany and has lived in Hawai`i for over 25 <br /> years, and is now a citizen. He is a member of the Democratic Party and if confirmed, will serve <br /> a vacant term to expire May 31, 2019,after which he will qualify to reapply for a full four year <br /> tern. <br /> Several Council Members commented in favor of Mr. Weber. The vote was taken with eight <br /> Council Members voting"aye."
