No. 1026/Bill No. 179 <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> Kailua-Kona, Hawai`i <br /> TIME: 9:34 a.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawai`i County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Planning, to which was referred Bill No. 179, reports as follows: <br /> Bill No. 179, transmitted by Managing Director Wil Okabe, via Communication No. 1026, dated <br /> August 1, 2018, amends Ordinance No. 08-20, which reclassified lands from Single Family <br /> Residential— 10,000 square feet(RS-10) to Neighborhood Commercial— 10,000 square feet (CN- <br /> 10) at Waiakea, South Hilo, Hawai`i, covered by Tax Map Keys: 2-2-036:025 and 026 (Applicant: <br /> Dien-Jung Lin(formerly Dian-Jung Nekoba) (Area: 39,771 square feet). <br /> Managing Director Wil Okabe forwarded the Windward Planning Commission's favorable <br /> recommendation for this amendment to request a time extension for completion of construction <br /> and payment of the water commitment fee. The properties are located on Kekuando`a Street and <br /> Hinano Street. <br /> Susan Tita came forward to represent the applicant, and Jeff Darrow from the Planning <br /> Department was present to answer questions. <br /> Ms. Tita explained that the applicant is in need of this time extension due to health reasons and is <br /> now prepared to move forward. She also said that the applicant has her financing and planning <br /> in order.
