COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII **-11.01 RESOLUTION NO. 675 1' A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO FRIENDS OF THE FUTURE TO ASSIST WITH EXPENSES RELATED TO THE 2018 HAWAII ISLAND WOMEN'S LEADERSHIP SUMMIT. WHEREAS, the mission of the Hawai`i Island Women's Leadership Summit is to empower and advance women on Hawai`i Island through knowledge, strength, and community; and WHEREAS, Friends of the Future is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that supports small businesses and community initiatives for the purpose of enhancing education, perpetuating culture, and building community capacity; and WHEREAS, Friends of the Future assisted with the last Hawai`i Island Women's Leadership Summit in 2016 and will be assisting again with this year's event, which will be held on October 19, 2018, at the Sheraton Kona Resort and Spa at Keauhou Bay; and WHEREAS, Friends of the Future is requesting funds for costs related to the summit, including facility rental fees,printing, hosting speakers, refreshments, and conference materials and supplies; and WHEREAS, the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney supports the Committee on the Status of Women and other community initiatives that promote and improve the status and wellbeing of women; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 3 will be appropriated to the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney to provide a grant to Friends of the Future to assist with expenses relating to the 2018 Hawai`i Island Women's Leadership Summit. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
