REQUEST: <br /> II <br /> A resolution, authorizing the Mayor to enter into an intergovernmental agreement between the County of <br /> Hawai'i and the U.S. Geological survey (USGS)for the purposes of continuing the cooperative flood- <br /> monitoring program on the island of Hawai'i. <br /> B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED): <br /> This agreement with the USGS is an annually budgeted,joint funding agreement where the County of <br /> Hawai'i contributes $45,472 toward the flood-monitoring program for the collection of long-term systematic <br /> data of annual peak streamflow.
