Additional federally-derived funds in the amount of$4,200 is <br /> being provided by the State of Hawai`i Department of Transportation Public Affairs —Safe <br /> Community Program to be used to increase the number of electronic mobile device citations. <br /> Enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget by appropriating these <br /> additional funds into the Hawai`i County Police Department's Distracted Driving Project account, <br /> bringing the total appropriation to $62,200. <br /> The Police Department is requesting that this bill be waived from the Finance Committee and be <br /> placed on the October 3, 2018 Council agenda in order to expedite the receipt of these funds.
