Additional federally-derived funds in the amount of <br /> $34,340 is being provided by the State of Hawai`i Department of Transportation Public Affairs– <br /> Safe Community Program to be used to increase the number of officers trained in advanced traffic <br /> accident reconstruction and other traffic-crash related courses. <br /> Enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget by appropriating these <br /> additional funds into the Hawai`i County Police Department's HCPD Traffic Investigation <br /> Program account,bringing the total appropriation to $105,840. <br /> The Police Department is requesting that this bill be waived from the Finance Committee and be <br /> placed on the October 3, 2018 Council agenda in order to expedite the receipt of these funds.
