Additional federally-derived funds in the amount of <br /> $11,000 is being provided by the State of Hawai`i Department of Transportation Public Affairs— <br /> Safe Community Program to be used to increase the number of seatbelt and child restraint citations <br /> issued, and to purchase tint meters and a canopy tent. <br /> Enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget by appropriating these <br /> additional funds into the Hawai`i County Police Department's Occupant Protection Program <br /> account, bringing the total appropriation to $90,000. <br /> The Police Department is requesting that this bill be waived from the Finance Committee and be <br /> placed on the October 3, 2018 Council agenda in order to expedite the receipt of these funds.
