COUNTY OF HAWA.I`I <br />STATE OF HAWAII <br />RESOLUTION NO. 721 -18 <br />A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br />AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br />DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE HAWAII ARTIST <br />COLLABORATION TO ASSIST WITH PURCHASING ART SUPPLIES AND <br />MATERIALS FOR STUDENTS AT KEALAKEHE AND KAHAKAI ELEMENTARY <br />SCHOOLS. <br />WHEREAS, the Hawaii Artist Collaboration is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization <br />whose mission is to create opportunities for artists, art organizations, and educators to integrate <br />their collective knowledge, experiences, and resources for the benefit of society and Hawai`i's <br />culture; and <br />WHEREAS, the Hawaii Artist Collaboration is requesting funds to assist with <br />purchasing art supplies and materials such as paint, clay, markers, paper, watercolors, and glue <br />for students at Kealakehe and Kahakai Elementary Schools; and <br />WHEREAS, one of the Department of Liquor Control's goals is to support youth <br />programs that promote alcohol- and drug-free activities, such as educational art activities for <br />children; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, <br />Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br />resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br />activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br />therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br />Contingency Relief funds from Council District 8 will be appropriated to the Department of <br />Liquor Control to provide a grant to the Hawaii Artist Collaboration to assist with purchasing <br />art supplies and materials for students at Kealakehe and Kahakai Elementary Schools. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br />transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
