Ntv.OF M, COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII ,tE OF'N' RESOLUTION NO. 722 IS A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE GRASSROOTS COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT GROUP TO ASSIST WITH EXPENSES RELATING TO THE 4TH ANNUAL DOMESTIC VIOLENCE SUMMIT. WHEREAS, the Grassroots Community Development Group (GCDG) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that supports community leadership development, educating and strengthening families, and cultivating health and wellness; and WHEREAS, GCDG has worked in partnership with Hawaii Community College and the University of Hawaii at Hilo to help organize the 4th Annual Domestic Violence Summit; and WHEREAS, the 4th Annual Domestic Violence Summit will be held at the `Imiloa Astronomy Center on October 19, 2018, where students, faculty, staff, and community members will convene and weave a united front to prevent and respond to domestic violence in our community; and WHEREAS, GCDG is requesting funds to assist with the cost of the summit, including facility rental fees, materials, supplies, printing costs, and refreshments for attendees; and WHEREAS, the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney supports domestic and family violence prevention and intervention initiatives; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 3 will be appropriated to the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney to provide a grant to Grassroots Community Development Group for the 4th Annual Domestic Violenace Summit. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
