No. 1064/Bill No. 189 <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i <br /> TIME: 9:15 a.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawai`i County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Planning, to which was referred Bill No. 189, reports as follows: <br /> Bill No. 189, transmitted by Mayor Harry Kim, via Communication No. 1064, dated September 5, <br /> 2018, amends the State Land Use Boundaries Maps for the County of Hawaii by changing the <br /> district classification from the Agricultural District to the Urban District at Waiakea, South Hilo, <br /> Hawai`i, Hawaii Tax Map Keys: 2-4-001:177, 185, and 186 (Applicant: Hawai`i Island <br /> Community Development Corporation) (Area: approximately 9.379 acres) <br /> Mayor Harry Kim forwarded the Windward Planning Commission's favorable recommendation <br /> for this amendment for the Mohouli Heights Senior Neighborhood Project, which seeks to <br /> provide affordable housing and other related senior services in South Hilo. The properties are <br /> located 608 feet west of the intersection of Mohouli Street and Komohana Street. <br /> Program Manager Jeff Darrow and Planner Shancy Watanabe from the Planning Department <br /> came forward to explain this project.
