REQUEST: <br /> This is a request for a resolution for the Mayor to enter into an agreement with the State of Hawai'i <br /> Department of Defense, Hawai'i Emergency Management Agency in support of projected objectives and <br /> activities of the County of Hawai'i Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan Upgrade and to accept funds. The Multi- <br /> Hazard plan is in support of State and County commitments toward long-term strategies to reduce the risks <br /> of natural hazards. <br /> Please create a bill or an ordinance to appropriate funds of$114,750.00 for this project. <br /> Please waive committee to expedite funds. <br /> B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED): <br /> An updated multi-hazard mitigation plan is required to be submitted to FEMA (Federal Emergency <br /> Management Agency).
