any archaeological inventory surveys, field inspections, or other historic preservation <br /> reviews have been conducted for this parcel. Previous studies conducted within Kaloko <br /> Ahupua'a have identified evidence of historic properties in previously undisturbed areas <br /> including habitation sites, burials, agricultural complexes, ceremonial sites and caves. <br /> This parcel is located within the geographic margins of the Kona Field System which is <br /> listed in the State Inventory of Historic Places (SHIP) as Site 50-10-37-6601. Sites <br /> associated with the Kona Field System have been documented at relatively high <br /> elevations in the Kaloko Ahupua`a. Based on the information provided, the SHPD has no <br /> objections to the applicants' request for an amendment to Condition D of <br /> Ordinance No. 05-66. <br /> 19. Cultural Resources: According to the applicants, no valued cultural, historical or <br /> natural resources exist on the properties and there is no evidence of any traditional and <br /> customary Native Hawaiian rights being practiced on the site. <br /> 20. Public Access: There is no record of a designated public access that traverses the <br /> property. <br /> 21. Traffic: According to the applicants, traffic generated from the proposed subdivision is <br /> expected to be minimal. <br /> PUBLIC UTILITIES AND SERVICES <br /> 22. Access: Access to the subject property is proposed from Kaloko Drive, which has a <br /> 22-foot wide paved roadways with 8-foot grass shoulders within 80-foot right-of-way. <br /> Kaloko Drive intersects with the Mamalahoa Highway approximately 3.5 miles below the <br /> subject property. <br /> 23. Water: According to the applicants, water can be made available from an existing 8 inch <br /> waterline on Kaloko Drive. <br /> 24. Wastewater: The applicants propose to use individual wastewater systems meeting the <br /> standards and requirements of the State Department of Health. <br /> 25. Essential Utilities and Services: Utilities are available to the site from poles along <br /> Kaloko Drive. The area is served by police and fire stations in Kailua and Kealakehe, <br /> approximately five miles southwest of the site. Kealakehe Elementary, Intermediate and <br /> High Schools are located approximately four miles north of the property. <br /> -4- <br />
