OJ�tY CP N,�1 COUNTY OF HAWAIII STATE OF HAWAII ,tE OFM' RESOLUTION NO. 746 IS A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE ARTS &z SCIENCE CENTER TO ASSIST WITH TWO COMMUNITY PROGRAMS AT THE GINNY ASTE SKATE PARK TO TAKE PLACE BY JUNE 30, 2019. WHEREAS, the Arts & Science Center (ASC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that was established in 2003 in Pahoa; that supports community development, greater access to education, and improving the quality of life through learning with aloha; and WHEREAS, the ASC is collaborating with the Friends of Pahoa Skate Park group, local businesses, families, and schools within the area to host community programs at the Ginny Aste Skate Park in Pahoa; and WHEREAS, the focus on these programs is to encourage youth participation in fun and organized sports activities and competitions, that will be free and open to the public; and WHEREAS, the ASC is requesting funds to offset the cost of advertising, equipment rentals, refreshments, and prizes for two community programs at the facility, to take place by June 30, 2019; and WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation supports community programs and groups that work to improve and maintain recreational facilities and enhance its programs; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 4 will be appropriated to the the Department of Parks and Recreation to provide a grant to the Arts & Science Center to assist with funding for two community programs at the Ginny Aste Skate Park. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
