COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII RESOLUTION NO. ' 754 IS RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE OFFICE OF THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE OF HAWAII PURSUANT TO HRS 46-7, TO ACCEPT THE TRANSFER OF MONEYS FOR SUPPLEMENTAL DISASTER RESPONSE WHEREAS, pursuant to the Emergency Proclamation relating to the County of Hawai'i dated May 3, 2018, the Supplemental Emergency Proclamation dated May 9, 2018, the Second Supplemental Emergency Proclamation dated June 5, 2108, the Third Supplementary Emergency Proclamation dated August'3, 2018, and the Fourth Supplementary Emergency Proclamation dated October,2, 2018, the State of Hawaii is providing ten million dollars ($10,000,000) to the County of Hawaii; and WHEREAS, these funds are for the purpose of providing additional financial assistance to the County of Hawaii to support the County's response to the volcanic eruption that occurred between May 3 and August 7, 2018 along the East Rift Zone in Lower Puna; and WHEREAS, Hawaii Revised Statutes, Section 46-7, requires that county departments obtain the consent of the council to enter into agreements with the federal or state governments respecting action to be taken pursuant to any of the powers granted by law to furnish, expend, and receive any funds or other assistance in connection with projects being or to be undertaken pursuant to those powers; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI'I, in accordance with section 46-7, Hawai'i Revised Statutes, that the Mayor of the County of Hawaii is authorized to execute, on behalf of the County, an agreement and related documents with the State of Hawaii to enable the County to receive funds as specified above.
