COUNTY OF HAWAII <br />STATE OF HAWAII <br />RESOLUTION NO. ' 754 IS <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE OFFICE OF THE MAYOR TO ENTER <br />INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE OF HAWAII PURSUANT TO <br />HRS 46-7, TO ACCEPT THE TRANSFER OF MONEYS FOR <br />SUPPLEMENTAL DISASTER RESPONSE <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to the Emergency Proclamation relating to the County of <br />Hawai'i dated May 3, 2018, the Supplemental Emergency Proclamation dated May 9, <br />2018, the Second Supplemental Emergency Proclamation dated June 5, 2108, the <br />Third Supplementary Emergency Proclamation dated August'3, 2018, and the Fourth <br />Supplementary Emergency Proclamation dated October,2, 2018, the State of Hawaii is <br />providing ten million dollars ($10,000,000) to the County of Hawaii; and <br />WHEREAS, these funds are for the purpose of providing additional financial <br />assistance to the County of Hawaii to support the County's response to the volcanic <br />eruption that occurred between May 3 and August 7, 2018 along the East Rift Zone in <br />Lower Puna; and <br />WHEREAS, Hawaii Revised Statutes, Section 46-7, requires that county <br />departments obtain the consent of the council to enter into agreements with the federal <br />or state governments respecting action to be taken pursuant to any of the powers <br />granted by law to furnish, expend, and receive any funds or other assistance in <br />connection with projects being or to be undertaken pursuant to those powers; now, <br />therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI'I, in <br />accordance with section 46-7, Hawai'i Revised Statutes, that the Mayor of the County of <br />Hawaii is authorized to execute, on behalf of the County, an agreement and related <br />documents with the State of Hawaii to enable the County to receive funds as specified <br />above. <br />
