Additional federally-derived funds in the <br /> amount of$3,228 is being provided by the State of Hawai`i Department of Transportation to be <br /> used to pay for a representative of the Prosecutor's office to attend traffic safety meetings and to <br /> provide traffic safety training for law enforcement personnel. <br /> Enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget by appropriating these <br /> additional funds into the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney's Traffic Safety Training Project <br /> account, bringing the total appropriation to $143,228. <br /> Time is of the essence for this project. The Office of the Prosecuting Attorney is requesting that <br /> this bill be waived from the Finance Committee and be placed on the January 23, 2019 Council <br /> agenda in order to expedite the receipt of these funds.
