"TIM" RICHARDS, III <br /> HAWAI`I COUNTY COUNCIL <br /> District 9 <br /> 25 Aupuni Street, Ste. 1402, Hilo, Hawai`i 96720 <br /> COUNTY CLERK <br /> DATE: January 15, 2019 COUNTY OF HAWAIIRECEIVED <br /> Time 11:30AM gl, .4"/ <br /> TO: Aaron Chung, Council Chair; and <br /> Date 201q JAN 16 <br /> Members of the Hawai`i County Council <br /> FROM: Tim Richards, Council Member CD <br /> Council District 9 -North and South Kohala <br /> SUBJECT: Report of Attendance at the Waimea Community Association meeting <br /> In accordance with HRS §92.2.5(e), I report my attendance along with that of Council Chair <br /> Aaron Chung, and Council Member Valerie Poindexter at the Waimea Community Association's <br /> (WCA) standing monthly community meeting,held at the Waimea Elementary School cafeteria <br /> on January 3, 2019. <br /> Amongst other WCA housekeeping matters,those attending the meeting were asked to listen to <br /> presentations by the two (2)airline carriers who are currently being considered for the Essential <br /> Air Service at the Waimea-Kohala Airport and provide some input. <br /> Our attendance at this community meeting provided updates regarding Council priorities, <br /> disaster recovery, and the Waimea-Kohala Airport carrier proposals to the Federal Department of <br /> Transportation, as well as provided an opportunity for the general public to engage with the <br /> legislative delegation present. <br /> HRS §92.2.5(e) states that two or more members of a board, but less than a quorum,may attend <br /> an informational meeting or presentation on matters relating to office board duties, including a <br /> community meeting,provided that the meeting or presentation is not specifically and exclusively <br /> organized for or directed toward members of the board, and that the board members shall report <br /> their attendance and the matters presented and discussed that related to official board business. <br /> Please place this communication on the next available Council agenda. <br /> Comm.
