Additional federally-derived funds in the amount of$33,793 <br /> is being provided by the State of Hawai`i Department of the Attorney General Crime Prevention <br /> and Justice Assistance Division to be used to update personnel in forensic science and purchase <br /> forensic science equipment. <br /> Enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget by appropriating these <br /> additional funds into the Hawai`i County Police Improve Forensic Services account, bringing the <br /> total appropriation to $63,793. <br /> The Police Department is requesting that this bill be waived from the Finance Committee and be <br /> placed on the February 5, 2019 Council agenda in order to expedite the receipt of these funds.
