• <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII -• �'-, '/�• STATE OF HAWAII <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 44 19 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE ZONTA CLUB OF <br /> HILO FOUNDATION TO ASSIST WITH EXPENSES RELATED TO THE <br /> "MAGNIFICENT ME" CONFERENCE. <br /> WHEREAS, the Zonta Club of Hilo Foundation is a 501(c)(3)nonprofit organization <br /> that supports the Zonta Club of Hilo and its mission to empower women and girls through public <br /> service and advocacy; and <br /> WHEREAS,the Zonta Club of Hilo Foundation is hosting "Magnificent Me" a free <br /> conference for 120 seventh-grade girls from various Hawai`i Island public schools at the <br /> University of Hawai`i at Hilo campus on March 29, 2019; and <br /> WHEREAS, this conference will feature, among other things, a series of workshops that <br /> will focus on empowering the girls to dream, craft plans to achieve their goals, celebrate their <br /> unique qualities, and fine-tune their communication skills; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Zonta Club of Hilo Foundation is requesting funds to assist with <br /> expenses related to this event, including transportation, lunch, snacks, and miscellaneous <br /> supplies and materials; and <br /> WHEREAS, one of the programs under the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney is the <br /> Committee on the Status of Women, which supports equality for women and girls in the <br /> community and inspires them to be leaders, similar to the mission of the Zonta Club of Hilo <br /> Foundation; and <br /> WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 3 will be appropriated to the Office of the <br /> Prosecuting Attorney to provide a grant to the Zonta Club of Hilo Foundation to assist with <br /> expenses relating to the "Magnificent Me" conference. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
