STATE OF HAWAII ,48 19 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE BETTY C. KANUHA FOUNDATION, INC., FOR THE WEST HAWAII COMMUNITY BEACH CLEANUP. WHEREAS, the Betty C. Kanuha Foundation, Inc., is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides and promotes educational opportunities to improve the lives and prospects of those in the community; and WHEREAS, the Betty C. Kanuha Foundation, Inc., is working with numerous organizations and community groups to coordinate the annual West Hawaii Community Beach Cleanup, a drug- and alcohol -free event, which includes County and State beaches from Miloli`i to Puako; and WHEREAS, the Betty C. Kanuha Foundation, Inc., is requesting funding assistance to purchase trash bags, gloves, lunch, and water for all volunteers of the West Hawaii Community Beach Cleanup, which is scheduled for March 2, 2019; and WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control supports drug- and alcohol -free events and activities, such as this beach cleanup initiative that encourages our youth to get involved in the community; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT .RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 7 will be appropriated to the Department of Liquor Control to provide a grant to the Betty C. Kanuha Foundation, Inc., to assist with expenses associated with the West Hawaii Community Beach Cleanup. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
