COUNTY OF HAWAII <br />140 F N'q0. <br />!y <br />•�f �� �MOf i•'\\ <br />4T[•OF•N1� <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br />STATE OF HAWAII <br />,48 19 <br />A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br />AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br />DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE BETTY C. <br />KANUHA FOUNDATION, INC., FOR THE WEST HAWAII COMMUNITY BEACH <br />CLEANUP. <br />WHEREAS, the Betty C. Kanuha Foundation, Inc., is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization <br />that provides and promotes educational opportunities to improve the lives and prospects of those <br />in the community; and <br />WHEREAS, the Betty C. Kanuha Foundation, Inc., is working with numerous <br />organizations and community groups to coordinate the annual West Hawaii Community Beach <br />Cleanup, a drug- and alcohol -free event, which includes County and State beaches from Miloli`i <br />to Puako; and <br />WHEREAS, the Betty C. Kanuha Foundation, Inc., is requesting funding assistance to <br />purchase trash bags, gloves, lunch, and water for all volunteers of the West Hawaii Community <br />Beach Cleanup, which is scheduled for March 2, 2019; and <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control supports drug- and alcohol -free events <br />and activities, such as this beach cleanup initiative that encourages our youth to get involved in <br />the community; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, <br />Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br />resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br />activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br />therefore, <br />BE IT .RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br />Contingency Relief funds from Council District 7 will be appropriated to the Department of <br />Liquor Control to provide a grant to the Betty C. Kanuha Foundation, Inc., to assist with <br />expenses associated with the West Hawaii Community Beach Cleanup. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br />transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
