JptV^0 H, 1 <br />COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII <br />7TE GF•M�'i+ <br />RESOLUTION NO. 49 19 <br />A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br />AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br />DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE BETTY C. <br />KANUHA FOUNDATION, INC., TO ASSIST WITH EXPENSES ASSOCIATED WITH <br />THE WEST HAWAII COMMUNITY BEACH CLEANUP. <br />WHEREAS, the Betty C. Kanuha Foundation, Inc., is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization <br />that promotes education, community awareness, and the importance of a clean environment <br />through alcohol- and drug-free community projects; and <br />WHEREAS, the Betty C. Kanuha Foundation, Inc., is co -sponsoring the West Hawaii <br />Community Beach Cleanup on March 2, 2019, with numerous organizations and community <br />groups; and <br />WHEREAS, the West Hawaii Community Beach Cleanup will include County and <br />State beaches stretching over 60 miles of coastline from Puako to Miloli`i; and <br />WHEREAS, the Betty C. Kanuha Foundation, Inc., is requesting funds to purchase trash <br />bags, gloves, food, and drinks associated with this event; and <br />WHEREAS, one of the Department of Liquor Control's goals is to support alcohol- and <br />drug-free events that provide a safe and healthy environment for learning; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, <br />Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br />resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br />activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br />therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br />Contingency Relief funds from Council District 6 will be appropriated to the Department of <br />Liquor Control to provide a grant to the Betty C. Kanuha Foundation, Inc., to assist with <br />expenses associated with the West Hawaii Community Beach Cleanup. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br />transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
