J�tVfOi H,`Y <br />COUNTY OF HAWAII +' _• <br />art of•H't+ <br />STATE OF HAWAII <br />RESOLUTION NO. 54 19 <br />A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br />AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br />DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE HAWAII <br />EMPLOYEES LIFELINE PROGRAM FOR THE REIMBURSEMENT OF EXPENSES <br />INCURRED FROM ITS 2019 LABOR OF LOVE PROJECT. <br />WHEREAS, the Hawaii Employees Lifeline Program (HELP) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit <br />organization that provides materials and manpower for repairs and installation of necessary <br />equipment at various schools throughout the State; and <br />WHEREAS, HELP, in conjunction with organized labor, businesses, organizations, and <br />individuals, conducts its annual Labor of Love project to support schools that are in need with <br />donations and skilled volunteers to create a space for students to focus on reaching their highest <br />potential; and <br />WHEREAS, the 2019 Labor of Love project was held on Saturday, February 2, 2019, at <br />Chiefess Kapi`olani Elementary School, which included replacing the carpet in the library, <br />installing bulletin boards, installing four basketball systems, striping the parking lot, as well as <br />sanding and painting multiple areas around the campus and landscaping; and <br />WHEREAS, HELP has requested funds for the reimbursement of expenses to defray the <br />cost of materials and supplies needed for school repairs and improvements; and <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control supports public programs that promote <br />drug-free and alcohol -free community events; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, <br />Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br />resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br />activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br />therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br />Contingency Relief funds from Council District 2 will be appropriated to the Department of <br />Liquor Control to provide a grant to the Hawaii Employees Lifeline Program for the <br />reimbursement of expenses incurred from its 2019 Labor of Love project. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br />transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
