Lee Lo c'l Member -s <br /> Council District taw <br /> SUBJECT: Report of Attendance at the Hawai`i State Capitol regarding Kilauea eruption <br /> disaster legislation(HB 1180 . <br /> g ) <br /> In accordance with HRS §92-2.5(e), I report my attendance along with that of council members <br /> Ashley Kierkiewicz and Tim Richards at a Hawai`i State Capitol hearing February 8, 2019, for <br /> House Bill No. 1180, which would rovide funding to Hawai`i County for Kilauea eruption <br /> disaster recovery. <br /> Each of us, along with Research and Development Director Diane Ley, provided oral testimony <br /> to a joint hearing of four House committees in support of HB 1180. We answered questions from <br /> legislators about why the funds are needed and where the funds would be spent. The results of <br /> the hearing are summarized in the attached committee report. <br /> HRS §92-2.5(e) states that two or more members of a board, but less than a quorum, many attend <br /> an informational meeting or presentation on matters relating to official board business, including <br /> a legislative hearing,provided that the meeting or presentation is not specifically and exclusively <br /> organized for or directed toward members of the board. The board members in attendance may <br /> participate in discussions, including discussions among themselves,provided that the discussions <br /> occur during and as part of the informational meeting or presentation; and further that no <br /> commitment relating to a vote on the matter is made or sought. At the next duly noticed meeting <br /> of the board,the board members shall report their attendance and the matters presented and <br /> discussed that related to official board business. <br /> Please place this matter on the next available Council agenda. <br /> Att.: Standing Committee Report No. 245, Regarding HB 1180 House Draft 1. <br /> Comm.
