STATE OF HAWAII 64 19 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE ISLAND OF HAWAII YMCA FOR THE WEST HAWAII FAMILY VISITATION CENTER PROGRAM. WHEREAS, the Island of Hawaii YMCA (YMCA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that supports our communities by emphasizing healthy living, well-being, youth development, and social responsibilities; and WHEREAS, the YMCA Family Visitation Center Program in West Hawaii provides a safe, nurturing and supervised environment for children who have been subject to domestic violence, divorce, separation, or custody disputes to visit with a parent or be transferred between parents; and WHEREAS, the YMCA is requesting funding for supervisory staff and security during visitations and exchanges; and WHEREAS, the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney supports domestic and family violence prevention and intervention initiatives by identifying areas of need and working collaboratively with other criminal justice agencies and community programs; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(A)(2) of the Hawaii County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 6 will be appropriated to the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney to provide a grant to the Island of Hawaii YMCA to assist with expenses related to the West Hawaii Family Visitation Center Program. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
