STATE OF HAWAII 69 19 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO ASSIST THE HAWAII FIRE DEPARTMENT WITH EXPENSES RELATED TO THE BIG ISLAND JUNIOR LIFEGUARD PROGRAM. WHEREAS, the Hawaii Fire Department, Ocean Safety Bureau, is tasked with the development and delivery of ocean safety operations and public safety education programs that are designed to maintain safety services, promote preventative actions, and facilitate basic emergency life support functions; and WHEREAS, the Hawaii Fire Department and Hawaiian Lifeguard Association are cosponsors of the Big Island Junior Lifeguard Program that promotes ocean safety through education and activities for youth from ages 12 to 17 by increasing self-confidence, physical conditioning, and ocean awareness through an introduction to ocean and beach safety, first aid, and surf rescue techniques; and WHEREAS, the Hawaii Fire Department is requesting funds to help defray costs related to the Big Island Junior Lifeguard Program; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 8 will be appropriated to the Hawaii Fire Department to assist with expenses related to the Big Island Junior Lifeguard Program. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: FUND: General AMOUNT OF APPROPRIATION: $2,000 OUT AND FROM: 010.101.5101.91 Clerk -Council SVC — Contingency Relief $2,000 CREDITED TO: 010.221.5223.45 Hawaii Fire Department $2,000 Ocean Safety Programs/Activities 341 Misc. Charges (Big Island Junior Lifeguard Program)
