COUNTY OF HAWAII <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br />STATE OF HAWAII <br />6'7 19 <br />A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br />AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br />DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO ASSIST THE HAWAII FIRE DEPARTMENT <br />WITH EXPENSES RELATING TO THE BIG ISLAND JUNIOR LIFEGUARD <br />PROGRAM. <br />WHEREAS, the Hawaii Fire Department, Ocean Safety Bureau, is tasked with the <br />development and delivery of ocean safety operations and public safety education programs, <br />utilizing a team of highly skilled and dedicated Water Safety Officers to maintain safety services, <br />promote preventative actions, and facilitate basic emergency life support functions; and <br />WHEREAS, the Hawaii Fire Department and Hawaiian Lifeguard Association are <br />cosponsors of the Big Island Junior Lifeguard Program, which teaches participants ocean safety <br />and beach rescue skills, including an introduction to water safety, first aid, cardiopulmonary <br />resuscitation (CPR), and surf rescue techniques; and <br />WHEREAS, the Hawaii Fire Department is requesting funds to assist with expenses <br />related to the -Big Island Junior Lifeguard Program; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br />Contingency Relief funds from Council District 7 will be appropriated to the Hawaii Fire <br />Department to assist with expenses related to the Big Island Junior Lifeguard Program. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br />transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />FUND: General <br />AMOUNT OF <br />APPROPRIATION: $2,000 <br />OUT AND FROM: <br />010.101.5101.91 Clerk -Council SVC — Contingency Relief <br />CREDITED TO: <br />010.221.5223.45 Hawaii Fire Department <br />Ocean Safety Programs/Activities <br />341 Misc. Charges <br />(Big Island Junior Lifeguard Program) <br />$2,000 <br />$2,000 <br />
