+tv Os h <br />COUNTY OF HAWAII +� �• <br />gra of M► M <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br />STATE OF HAWAII <br />78 19 <br />A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND <br />FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED <br />FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE EAST HAWAII CULTURAL <br />COUNCIL FOR REIMBURSEMENT OF EXPENSES ASSOCIATED WITH THE 2019 LIVE <br />ALOHA FESTIVAL HELD ON JANNUARY 11-13,2019, AT THE EAST HAWAII <br />CULTURAL CENTER. <br />WHEREAS, the East Hawaii Cultural Council ("EHCC") is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit <br />community organization that is dedicated to providing a cultural and educational venue for the <br />greater community; and <br />WHEREAS, the EHCC encourages and supports expression of cultural diversity defined <br />through exhibition, performance, workshops, and creative inquiry; and <br />WHEREAS, the 2019 Live Aloha event that was held on January 11-13, 2019, featured an <br />innovative venue designed to feature music, theater, film, puppets, visual arts, and conversations <br />about community and art; and <br />WHEREAS, the EHCC is requesting reimbursement for expenses incurred during and for the <br />development, production and implementation of the 2019 Live Aloha Festival, including but not <br />limited to supplies, printing, refreshments, and other items necessary for the project; and <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation supports this event as it is in keeping <br />with the goals and objectives of the department to provide events and activities that celebrate and <br />commemorate significant cultural contributions in a clean and safe environment; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, Contingency <br />Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying <br />the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, <br />materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br />Contingency Relief funds from Council District 2 will be appropriated to the Department of Parks <br />and Recreationt to provide a grant to the East Hawaii Cultural Council for reimbursement of <br />expenses associated with the 2019 Live Aloha Festival event that was held on January 11-13, 2019. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Council hereby transfers/appropriates the <br />following amount as set forth below: <br />
