w �� Of COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII tOi N►' RESOLUTION NO. 81 i9 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE COOPER CENTER COUNCIL TO ASSIST WITH ITS FRIENDS FEEDING FRIENDS PROGRAM DINNER EVENT. WHEREAS, the Cooper Center Council is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to bring the community of Volcano, Hawaii and surrounding area into a cohesive group through shared activities and projects; and WHEREAS, the Cooper Center Council serves various communities in Volcano Village and the surrounding area by providing a venue for meetings, community events, a weekly farmers' market, monthly feedings, and the Volunteer Fire Station 19 -Alpha; and WHEREAS, Friends Feeding Friends program will host a special dinner on March 28, 2019 at the Cooper Center for Federal workers and families from Hawaii Volcanoes National Park that have been affected by the government shutdown; and WHEREAS, the Cooper Center Council is requesting funding assistance to purchase miscellaneous supplies and groceries for its Friends Feeding Friends program dinner event; and WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation supports programs and groups that provide services and opportunities that meet the needs of the community; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 6 will be appropriated to the Department of Parks and Recreation to provide a grant to the Cooper Center Council to assist with its Friends Feeding Friends program dinner event. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
