MtV °`!;, <br />�,lelg. <br />COUNTY OF HAWAII •� �• <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br />STATE OF HAWAII <br />83 19 <br />A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br />AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br />DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE HILO HAMAKUA <br />COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION FOR THE WAINAKU KAIWIKI <br />COMMUNITY "PARTY IN THE PARK". <br />WHEREAS, the Hilo Hamakua Community Development Corporation (HHCDC) is a <br />501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to assist in creating opportunities that preserve <br />our environment, sustain our families, and improve the quality of life; and <br />WHEREAS, HHCDC is collaborating with the Wainaku Kaiwiki Community <br />Association to conduct a health and wellness community event entitled "Party in the Park", <br />which will be held on May 5, 2019, at Kaiwiki Park; and <br />WHEREAS, the Wainaku Kaiwiki Community "Party in the Park" will have <br />informational booths on health education, demonstrations, entertainment, food, and fun activities <br />that promote health and wellness; and <br />WHEREAS, HHCDC is requesting funds to help with advertising, entertainment (music, <br />jumpers, and keiki games), equipment and supplies such as rentals (portable toilets, tents, tables, <br />and chairs), special duty officers, food, drinks, paper goods, and other miscellaneous expenses <br />associated with the event; and <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation supports events that provide the <br />public with safe and enjoyable activities that promote good health and physical fitness, as well as <br />community camaraderie; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, <br />Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br />resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br />activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br />therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br />Contingency Relief funds from Council District 1 will be appropriated to the Department of <br />Parks and Recreation to provide a grant to HHCDC for expenses associated with the Wainaku <br />Kaiwiki Community "Party in the Park" event. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br />transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
