REQUEST: <br /> This is a request to enter into an agreement with the State Department of the Attorney General Crime <br /> Prevention and Justice Assistance Division for the purpose of preserving the Spirit of Aloha in Hawaii <br /> County. The Hawaii Police Department will work cooperatively with Neighborhood Watch programs to <br /> educate, report and prevent criminal activities. To enhance and strengthen the existing partnership to lower <br /> crime in their respective communities. <br /> Please create an (tdinance to appropriate funds up to $50,000 for the period covering July 1, 2018 thru <br /> June 30, 2019. <br /> B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED): <br /> The Hawaii County Police Department thru this grant would enhance and strengthen the existing partnership <br /> to lower crime in their respective communities. The Community Policing Division will take on, along with <br /> Neighborhood Watch educating community members on how to identify, report and prevent criminal activity' <br /> in their respectiwheighborhoods.
