.-J�tYIOFN��' <br /> • <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII .+� STATE OF HAWAII <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 91 19 <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE OFFICE OF THE MAYOR TO ENTER <br /> INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE OF HAWAII PURSUANT TO <br /> HRS 46-7, TO ACCEPT FUNDS AS A LOAN TO THE COUNTY OF <br /> HAWAII <br /> WHEREAS, the State of Hawaii House Bill No. 1180, House Draft 1 provides <br /> $40,000,000 as a loan to the County of Hawaii; and <br /> WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii would like to express its appreciation to the <br /> Hawaii State Legislature for this loan; and <br /> WHEREAS, this loan to the County is to provide matching funds to obtain non- <br /> state funds, including federal funds, in order to provide relief, recovery, mitigation, and <br /> remediation assistance for disaster damage, losses, and suffering caused by the <br /> volcanic eruption that occurred between May 3 and August 7, 2018; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Council recommends the acceptance of these <br /> funds and requests that the State of Hawaii release the funds to the County of Hawaii; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii will report monthly expenditures to the State of <br /> Hawaii Department of Budget and Finance; and <br /> WHEREAS, Hawaii Revised Statutes, Section 46-7, requires that county <br /> departments obtain the consent of the council to enter into agreements with the federal <br /> or state governments respecting action to be taken pursuant to any of the powers <br /> granted by law to furnish, expend, and receive any funds or other assistance in <br /> connection with projects being or to be undertaken pursuant to those powers; now, <br /> therefore, <br />
