STATE OF HAWAII ...,f•N�,i� RESOLUTION NO. 94 19 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE ZONTA CLUB OF HILO FOUNDATION TO ASSIST WITH EXPENSES RELATED TO ITS "MAGNIFICENT ME" CONFERENCE. WHEREAS, the Zonta Club of Hilo Foundation is a 501(c)(3)nonprofit organization whose mission is to empower women and girls through public service and advocacy; and WHEREAS,the Zonta Club of Hilo Foundation is sponsoring a free "Magnificent Me" Conference for 120 seventh-grade girls from various Hawaii Island public schools at the University of Hawai`i at Hilo campus on March 29, 2019; and WHEREAS,the conference is designed to have the girls participate in thought- provoking conversations; experience bonding with their peers and speakers; be exposed to the university campus as a setting for higher education; attend a series of empowering workshops to build their self-esteem; and meet prominent professional women who can serve as mentors; and WHEREAS,the Zonta Club of Hilo Foundation is requesting funds to assist with expenses related to this event, including transportation, food, and"swag bags"; and WHEREAS, one of the programs under the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney is the Committee on the Status of Women, who is tasked with improving the status and well-being of women and girls working toward gender equality, parallel to the mission of the Zonta Club of Hilo Foundation; and WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 5 will be appropriated to the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney to provide a grant to the Zonta Club of Hilo Foundation to assist with expenses relating to its "Magnificent Me" conference.
