.�JN�yoF <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII 4A( 'k' /_.4 STATE OF HAWAII <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 96 19 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO NA MAKA HALOA 0 <br /> WAIPI`O FOR ITS KUKULU KUMUHANA 0 PUNA PROGRAM. <br /> WHEREAS,Na Maka Haloa o Waipi`o is a 501(c)(3)nonprofit organization that runs <br /> Kukulu Kumuhana o Puna, a program that educates youth, families, and communities on the <br /> cultural heritage of the kupuna(elders) of Puna through workshops, meetings, and ho`ike <br /> (exhibits); and <br /> WHEREAS,the Kukulu Kumuhana o Puna program consists of workshops that are held <br /> twice a week teaching hula, chanting, Hawaiian language, storytelling, lei making, and how to <br /> create traditional clothing in hopes of increasing cultural knowledge and skills in Hawaiian <br /> traditions and heritage; and <br /> WHEREAS,Na Maka Haloa o Waipi`o is requesting funds to cover facility rental fees, <br /> materials, supplies, and food for the students who attend the workshops; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control supports public programs that promote <br /> drug-free and alcohol-free community events; and <br /> WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 5 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Liquor Control to provide a grant to Na Maka Haloa o Waipi`o to cover expenses for its Kukulu <br /> Kumuhana o Puna program. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
