1•1 <br /> J,4`yl OF ... <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII <br /> +TE OF•HF'� . <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 124 19 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO HOSPICE OF HILO <br /> FOR ITS 15TH ANNUAL CELEBRATION OF LIFE FESTIVAL. <br /> WHEREAS, Hospice of Hilo (doing business as Hawai`i Care Choices) is a 501(c)(3) <br /> nonprofit organization providing palliative, hospice, and bereavement care with a mission to <br /> improve the lives of those touched by illness or grief by offering support, guidance, and <br /> compassionate care of the body,mind, and spirit; and <br /> WHEREAS, Hospice of Hilo is hosting its 15th Annual Celebration of Life festival on <br /> Saturday, May 25, 2019, at Reeds Bay Beach Park to commemorate the lives of loved ones who <br /> have passed; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Celebration of Life is free, open to the public, and will include <br /> culturally diverse activities to honor our island heritage, Lights of Remembrance, a sunset <br /> luminary lantern release, live music, and dancing; and <br /> WHEREAS, Hospice of Hilo is requesting funding assistance to cover expenses <br /> including,but not limited to, stage equipment, generator, and portable toilet rentals for the 15th <br /> Annual Celebration of Life festival; and <br /> WHEREAS,the Department of Liquor Control supports drug-free and alcohol-free <br /> events that enrich the lives of community members; and <br /> WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 4 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Liquor Control to provide a grant to Hospice of Hilo (doing business as Hawai`i Care Choices) <br /> for its 15th Annual Celebration of Life festival. <br />
