.-fig757----------- <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII •���', • STATE OF HAWAII <br /> ,1''..,rF OF --- <br /> • <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 125 19 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO HOSPICE OF HILO TO <br /> ASSIST WITH EXPENSES RELATED TO THE CELEBRATION OF LIFE EVENT AT <br /> REEDS BAY BEACH PARK. <br /> WHEREAS, Hospice of Hilo, doing business as Hawai`i Care Choices, is a 501(c)(3) <br /> nonprofit organization that provides compassionate palliative care, hospice care, and <br /> bereavement care to help those in transition and their loved ones; and <br /> WHEREAS, Hospice of Hilo is planning its 15th annual Celebration of Life event, <br /> scheduled for May 25, 2019, at Reeds Bay Beach Park; and <br /> WHEREAS,this community event will culminate in the floating of the Lights of <br /> Remembrance, with approximately 300 luminarias released into the water in honor of those who <br /> have passed; and <br /> WHEREAS, Hospice of Hilo is requesting funds to assist with the cost of the luminarias, <br /> equipment rental, marketing, and security for the Celebration of Life event; and <br /> WHEREAS,the Department of Parks and Recreation facilitates a wide array of services <br /> and opportunities that meet the needs of the Big Island community while maintaining cultural <br /> uniqueness of our rich heritage, diversity, and the aloha spirit; and <br /> WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 3 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Parks and Recreation to provide a grant to Hospice of Hilo to assist with expenses related to the <br /> Celebration of Life event at Reeds Bay Beach Park. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
