•.�;�`y OFA ,�',/••,.,. <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII f+;4%'' !�+ STATE OF HAWAII <br /> �Tt OF�NF't_ . <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 138 19 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO HOSPICE OF HILO TO <br /> ASSIST WITH EXPENSES FOR ITS 15TH ANNUAL CELEBRATION OF LIFE— <br /> HONORING OUR ISLAND HERITAGE FESTIVAL. <br /> WHEREAS, Hospice of Hilo, dba Hawai`i Care Choices, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit <br /> organization that provides medical, social, spiritual, and end-of-life care for terminally ill <br /> patients,their families, and their caregivers; and <br /> WHEREAS, on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at Reed's Bay Beach Park in Hilo, Hospice of <br /> Hilo will be hosting its 15th Annual Celebration of Life—Honoring Our Island Heritage festival <br /> where there will be luminaries to be decorated and launched, live music, dance performances, <br /> and food and snacks; and <br /> WHEREAS, Hospice of Hilo is requesting funding assistance to cover operational <br /> expenses for its 15th Annual Celebration of Life festival to include equipment rental,marketing <br /> materials, and supplies; and <br /> WHEREAS,the Culture and Education program of the Department of Parks and <br /> Recreation promotes,perpetuates, and encourages activities and programs in culture, art, history, <br /> and the humanities; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 5 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Parks and Recreation to provide a grant to Hospice of Hilo, dba Hawai`i Care Choices for <br /> expenses related to its 15th Annual Celebration of Life—Honoring Our Island Heritage festival. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transferred/appropriated the following amount as set forth below: <br />
